digivice

For this project, we were told to try out 3D printing for the first time. I decided to model a digivice from Digimon in Rhinoceros. Given the fact we had to share one 3D printer among 16 students, we were told to print at standard quality within a four hour time-slot. After sending my model into the MakerBot printer, I learned that the 3D printer does not like detailed cuts that are under 0.5cm wide and at least 1mm deep. So I went back and modeled another digivice that didn’t have the complicated scripture, and reprinted that.
