fluke multimeter
RESEARCH
My partners, Justin Taylor, Kate Shreffler and I studied previous Fluke tools. Through field observations, product audits, competitive lanscape analysis, and quick-fail models, we noted these main concerns:
•Chunky tools can’t reach into electrical boxes
• Majority of commercial wires are horizontal
• Certain information may be covered during use
• Uncomfortable grip
We were required to create a non-contact multimeter. For our team, we chose to create a tool that could read both current and voltage in a streamlike fashion. Our final model was rendered in SolidWorks and 3D printed. This project included intensive research and ideation, and had to be organized to be presented to Fluke Corporations at the end. This was a quarter long project.
